She was raised in Shakopee and graduated from Shakopee High School in 1966, where shortly after, she met the love of her life, Gary Knutson. Kathy was born to John and Agnes (Budde) Lynch on Jan. Kathleen Ann Knutson, 75, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at her home in Eden Prairie. Mass of Christian Burial to be held Wednesday, August 9 at 11AM at Pax Christi Catholic Church, 12100 Pioneer Trail, Eden Prairie, MN 55347, with visitation one hour prior. Donna was preceded in death by her parents her brother, Rodney and sister-in-law Jolene (Rogers) Leach. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as numerous and beloved great and great-great nieces and nephews, friends, and neighbors. Donna is survived by her devoted husband, Franklin who she cherished. She was entertained for a few seasons by an albino squirrel she named Snoflake. Over the years Donna enjoyed their Labrador companions Brook, Pepper and especially Jill. She especially enjoyed interior decorating and her and Frank's lovely home reflects that to this day. For many years she took great pride in caring for the community flower bed. She shared her bountiful blooms with friends and neighbors, even hanging May baskets on her friend's doors. Gardening was Donna's passion, especially flowers. Donna was a devoted caregiver to her parents and Aunt. She was a long-time member of Pax Christi Catholic Community in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. She took pride in using that talent to revamp the Pilot Wives' Group, start their Neighborhood Watch as well as the Henkels' family reunion, an annual event she and Frank spearheaded over 25 years ago. Donna graduated from Heron Lake High School in 1950 and married Franklin Henkels on September 18, 1956, at Sacred Heart Church in Heron Lake. the daughter of Nester and Minnie Leach, grew up on the family farm just east of Heron Lake, Minnesota. She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Suzanne and Jim Hansen of Hawarden, Iowa two sons and their wives, Robert and Cheryl Reilly of Spokane, Wash., and Marti and Mary Jo Reilly of Sioux City six grandchildren, Katie, Anne and Tim Reilly, Kelly and Kyle Hansen and Karla and her husband, Scott Embrock two sisters, Inez Myers and Mary Ann and her husband, Vernon Yates, all of Sioux City and many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed cross-stitch and her grandchildren. She participated in one of the first Sioux City Sue contests and was an avid bowler. She had been a past member of the Cathedral choir and the Senior Citizen choir. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America-Court Ave Maria 26 and the Sioux City Stockettes. In 1966 she worked at the Sioux City Stockyards, first with Ingerson's Commission Firm, then with Switzer-Beasons, followed by Long and Hansen's and retired from Producers in 1985. She was a bookkeeper at Pilly's Creamery, Cudahy's Pack and Swifts in the late 1940s and 1950s. She graduated from Central High School in Sioux City in 1945. 30, 1927, in Oyens, Iowa, the daughter of John and Loretta (Laddusaw) Sheehan.
